Free Swing Dance and Tango Lesson Weekend- April 5 (9/6/2008)
The Mercersburg Inn is proud to present a series weekend Swing and Tango dance lessons for beginners.

Our instructors, Frank and Maureen Hancock have been teaching Ballroom Dancing in Central, Pa. since 1997. In addition to The Swing and Tango which we will concentrate on during the weekend, they also teach the Cha Cha, Foxtrot, Waltz, Rumba, Two-Step, Polka, Meringue, and Mambo. Frank and Maureen presently teach at Penn State, the Chambersburg Country Club, the Carlisle YMCA, Carlisle Barracks Letort, and the View Community Center.

The weekend starts on Saturday (early check-in) with the first session from 11am-12:30 Then a lesson from 3:30pm-5pm After dinner in our Byron's Dining Room (optional), you will have a chance to show off what you have learned, dancing in our Great Room from 8pm to 10 pm.

No exams and everyone gets an A+

Northern Italian Wine Tasting and Food Weekend (10/3/2008)
Northern Italian Wine and Food with Dick Bosstick

Dick lived in Northern Italy for 7 years and developed a keen knowledge and appreciation of the fine wines and food of the region. He also was the proprietor of a wine shop in the Baltimore area. He has returned to the regions of the North as a culinary guide. He will lead us through an afternoon tasting of 6 to 8 wines from the Northern Regions, explaining the history and flavors of the wines we sample.


The Event:
An afternoon Wine tasting and education session with Dick Bosstick. Then Dick will join with our chef Dan Nowalk, a charter member of the Pennsylvania Culinary Society, to delight us with a 5 course Northern Italian Dinner with wine pairings.




The Weekend:

Saturday 2pm -Wine Tasting Session- a mix of wines from the Northern Regions.


Saturday 8pm - Five course Northern Italian Chef's Dinner with Wine Pairings from the Veneto and Piedmont regions selected by Dick including a discussion of the wines chosen.

$105 per person plus room.

French Cooking Classes
The Mercersburg Inn is proud to partner with the acclaimed L' Academie de Cuisine of Bethesda, MD, to present a series of culinary weekends throughout the year. Held Friday night through Sunday afternoon, the weekends feature two intensive cooking classes and (of course) fabulous meals. Cooking classes are held in the mornings, followed by a lunch featuring the results! The Saturday night's Chef's Dinner is an elegant gala event.
