Introduction
If you love the warm, cozy feeling of being surrounded by wood . . . come spend a few days with us at Log Haven Bed and Breakfast . . . nestled among towering trees and surrounded by many acres of field & forest.
Half of our large log home is devoted to the B&B, which has a separate entrance. There's a spacious guest "common" room with cable-TV, VCR, stereo, glider rockers, reading material, board games, jigsaw puzzles, complimentary soft drinks, coffee & tea, and a microwave for popcorn. A 12-foot-wide expanse of windows practically brings the outside indoors. And, with just two guest bedrooms (each with a full private bath), it's never crowded in our B&B. Guests seem to especially enjoy the peace, quiet, and privacy of Log Haven.
You'll find our guestrooms warm and inviting with colorful quilts on the beds, ceiling fans, well-lighted bathrooms, plush carpet, and extra soundproofing in the walls/ceilings -- all surrounded by the warmth of mellowing pine wood throughout. (A geothermal heat pump provides central heating and cooling for all rooms.) We designed and completed a large addition to our log home (now the B&B portion) in 1999 specifically with our B&B guests in mind.
Breakfast features a hot-from-the-oven main entree, a home-baked sweet bread, fresh fruit, English muffins, homemade jams, juice, cereals, coffee, tea, and milk.
Some guests say they'll return just to get another plate of Betty's homemade chocolate-chip cookies or peanut butter fudge - special treats that welcome all guests at check-in. Whether you want a peaceful hideaway for a few days or a base of operation for exploring the beautiful Laurel Highlands, we're here to make your visit memorable. Seven Springs Ski Resort is only minutes away, as are the Allegheny Highland Hiking/Biking Trail, covered bridges, golf courses, state parks, and much more. Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob, both designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, are both just a short drive away as is the Flight 93 Memorial.
