About Your Hosts

We lived in Pittsburgh and Gaithersburg (Md.) for most of our married lives before returning to our native Western Pennsylvania in 1998.

We built our log home in 1993 in anticipation of an early retirement, which Ron did in mid-1998 after 36 years of working for newspapers, public relations agencies, and trade associations. Betty continues her work from a home office as a freelance editorial consultant for a Maryland publishing company. Woodworking, photography, genealogy, gardening, and tourism promotion projects fill Ron's spare time, while Betty enjoys chancel choir, bell choir, and church volunteer work.
