Enjoy a walk down the lane to the Amish farm adjacent to us or enjoy a quiet evening on our porch listening to the clippety-clop of horsedrawn Amish buggies.
Hershey is a 40 minute drive, Reading is a 45 minute drive, Gettysburg is an 85 minute drive
and Philadelphia and Baltimore are only a 90 minute drive.
Homestead Lodging features a complimentary continental breakfast to get you started right. There's nothing like hot coffee or fresh baked goods to liven your spirits for a day of activities.
You may wish to visit Wheatland - President Buchanan's birthplace; Hans Herr House; Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania; Landis Valley Farm Museum; Mennonite Info Center/Hebrew Tabernacle; Amish Experience Theatre; Kitchen Kettle Village; Strasburg Railroad; or Dutch Wonderland to name a few.
There are numerous outdoor activities including tennis, golf (eighteen hole and miniature), water slides, parks, and swimming that can fill your day in our local area.
From January to December, this area features events. Tour buses are available daily for tours of the Amish farmlands and on Wednesdays to Philadelphia. Homestead Lodging is also located within walking distance of restaurants and minutes from farmers markets, quilt, antique and craft shops, outlets, auctions, museums. Visit the several theatres - Sight & Sound Millennium Theater; Living Waters Theatre; American Music Theatre; Dutch Apple dinner theatre and Rainbow dinner theatre, Fulton Opera House.
Five accommodating rooms each with private bath welcome you to this wonderful bed and breakfast. Each room offers cable/color TV, clock radio, refrigerator, wireless internet connection, queen and double beds and individually controlled heat or air conditioning.
Bob and Lori do not wish for this to be a mere overnight stop; spend your vacation with them and discover all the activities this beautiful Amish countryside has to offer.
During your stay you will be delighted with wonderful Pennsylvania Dutch cooking and fine dining. These favorite restaurants come to mind Good n Plenty, Olde Greenfield Inn, Log Cabin, Diener's, Miller's smorgasboard and Shady Maple smorgasboard.
