Originally built as a Publick House, this 1815 Federal-style building became the site of the first Confederate stand and hospital during the Civil War. Listed in the National Register, the inn's 19th-century heritage and glory has now been faithfully restored, and a new wing added. The enchanting atmosphere of the Inn at Herr Ridge is unforgettable. On the Gettysburg battlefield only minutes from town, the Inn offers guests a rare experience. The main house of the Inn was built in 1815, and became a field hospital during the battle. Two commons rooms overlook the historic area from Peace Light to Little Round Top. Each of the romantic suites feature a fireplace, most offer double Jacuzzis. The Garden Room also boasts a round bed, microwave, refrigerator and private deck. The adjacent Annex provides five rooms with Jacuzzi's, fireplaces and private decks.
