This weekend is geared specifically to first time visitors to Gettysburg. This is a unique opportunity to explore the Battlefield at your own pace with the added expertise of Licensed Battlefield Guides to help make the most of your time and answer any questions that may arise. You will leave having gained a thorough understanding of the Battle of Gettysburg itself, as well as how the Battle fits into the larger context of the American Civil War and our development as a nation.

by Barbara Platt (1 copy per room). Barbara is
a Park Ranger at the Gettysburg National
Military Park and has compiled a comprehensive
history of the Gettysburg Battlefield since
those 3 days in July, 1863.

Exclusive dinner at the Historic Cashtown Inn on Friday evening. Enjoy a four-course meal at
Gettysburgs finest restaurant.

Post-dinner presentation by Licensed
Battlefield Guide Sue Boardman on the history
of the Gettysburg National Military Park and
an overview of the Battle.

On Saturday morning, tour the new Museum and
Visitors Center, with tickets to view the
introductory film narrated by Morgan Freeman,
A New Birth of Freedom and the newly
restored Cyclorama painting depicting
Picketts Charge.

Lunch at the Visitor Centers Refreshment
Saloon, followed by free time to tour the
Battlefield with the self-guided Auto-Tour.

A fireside chat at the Doubleday Inn on
Saturday night with Licensed Battlefield Guide
Charlie Kingston, who will lead a question and
answer session.

A private tour of the Shriver House Museum in
Gettysburg on Sunday morning. Tour an
authentic 1863 Gettysburg home, dedicated to
telling the Civilian side of the Battle.
