Introduction
Welcome To O'Flaherty's Dingeldein House B & B! Escape to our Lancaster, PA bed and breakfast. We are in the nation's oldest part of Pennsylvania Dutch and Amish country where our friends live and work as their ancestors did centuries ago. Their customs and beliefs set them apart from the modern world. It is a patchwork quilt of people, places, exquisite scenery, delicious food, and heartwarming experiences.
Call on Gerry and Dave at their most hospitable and welcoming Lancaster County inn. They will prepare daily itineraries and guide you as you experience our festivals, explore our museums, and tour our historic buildings. While you are in Lancaster, they can arrange for a ride on a steam-powered locomotive at Strasburg, or a chance to see the countryside in an authentic Amish Buggy. Gerry and Dave will also show you our roadside stands, farmers' markets, numerous antique shops, auctions, or over 200 factory outlets. If you would like to experience an authentic dinner in an Amish home, let Gerry and Dave know and they will check on availability and if possible, make a reservation for you.
Gerry and Dave are the fourth innkeepers at the Dingeldein House. Their arrival brought their unique
and eclectic collection of antiques and Americana to be found in every corner of the house.
For a unique alternative to Pennsylvania hotel lodging, spend your nights in our wonderful and historic O'Flaherty's Dingeldein House Bed and Breakfast or in our cozy and comfortable cottage. O'Flaherty's Dingeldein House is an historic inn located in Lancaster County, the heart of Pennsylvania's Amish Country. The house first served as the home to members of the Armstrong family of cork and tile fame. Armstrong's World Headquarters still makes its home in Lancaster, PA. Built about 1910 in the Dutch Colonial style popular at the time, the house made a handsome residence for the two families who, in succession, occupied the home until 1986 when it first became a bed and breakfast.
When you stay at the Dingeldein House, you should feel it is your house. Our spacious living room provides you with a warm fireplace as well as television and VCR. Enjoy the living room as a place to visit with each other, meet other guests, enjoy a game, read a book (if you don't have one, we have a selection to interest all tastes), have a warm cup of coffee or tea and a sweet treat! After dinner, you may want to sit by the fire and warm yourself with a glass of port wine. Our den offers a quiet area to read a book and enjoy a second fireplace. The new cottage across the garden has two spacious bedrooms, the Nature Room and the Red Rose Room. Guests can also enjoy the amenities of the main inn.
In the spring, summer and fall, enjoy our porch, Koi fishpond and gardens that are sure to bring relaxation to all. You may want to sit by the pond or on the porch and catch up on things back home with your laptop. For the convenience of both leisure and business travelers, we have wireless Internet access!

Every breakfast is special at O'Flaherty's Dingeldein House. Every breakfast is served at its peak of perfection - so it's important that we're all served together at 8:30 each morning. Coffee and tea is available anytime and we can accommodate business travelers with early appointments or guests who have to make an early departure. That most important meal of the day begins with ample portions of coffee, tea and juice and we've got the best.
After the coffee and juice is poured, our first course is a fruit dish. Perhaps a baked pear, apple or peach, fresh or broiled pineapple, in season cantaloupe and watermelon strawberries or peaches, or maybe even a breakfast banana foster! A wide variety of Lancaster County produce stands, farmer's markets and orchards provide many of these favorites.
We sure like breakfast meat, but we're also sensitive to the needs of our vegetarian guests. Although most breakfasts include a meat side dish, such as locally cured Amish bacon or local sausages, the rest of your plate may include such recipes as stuffed blueberry French toast, fresh garden quiche, spicy chili egg puff, caramel French toast, home fried potatoes. Fresh breads, muffins or sweet rolls may also be served. We believe our breakfast should be as pretty as it is tasty so we decorate each plate with edible garnishes from our kitchen garden and fancy fixin's that together make a portion in themselves. You will probably want to take a picture before you eat.
