Introduction

Carriage Corner Bed & Breakfast - Intercourse (Lancaster County), Pennsylvania Carriage Corner Bed & Breakfast is located on the edge of the Village of Intercourse which has been called, "The Capital of the Amish", and "Quilt Capital of the World".

"A visit to the Carriage Corner B&B is a perfect introduction to the original concept of B&B: affordable lodging, genuine hospitality, delicious food and immaculate housekeeping" Sandra W Soule, Travel Writer.

Kitchen Kettle Village lures all visitors to its unique shops. And on a drive through the countryside, one can experience plain people who work tirelessly with horse and plow, or needle and thread. One guest described it as being..."right in the middle of Amish country with carriages rolling by, Amish boys on scooters, and girls in bonnets playing games". One of the county's most beautiful covered bridges as well as the sister villages of Strasburg and Bird-in-Hand are just minutes away.

A five minute walk takes one to Intercourse which is a hustling Village from yesteryear with Amish buggies converging. Locally crafted furniture, crafts, pottery, tin, decoy shops and art galleries as well as fine and family-farm restaurants fill the Village. Gordon is willing to share his knowledge and love of the area and assists in planning itineraries that will assist you in understanding and experiencing the area. He is also able to arrange dinners with Amish friends. Resources on the area are provided in guest rooms as well as in the common room where one can curl up with a steeping cup of tea and read about the Amish lifestyle in front of a gas log stove.

A bright, airy and inviting home built as a Bed & Breakfast in 1980, Carriage Corner has been owned by Gordon and Gwen Schuit since 1992.

There is a warm and friendly atmosphere, and guests from all parts of the world enjoy conversing in the living-common room area and around the breakfast table. Guests refer to the Bed & Breakfast as being "comfortable" and appreciate the highlights of the tasteful country theme, the Amish quilt hangings in the rooms and the reproductions of early American funiture by local craftsmen which Gwen has placed together.
