Introduction
The Cabin Creek Inn is located nine miles east of York, Pennsylvania on land that was originally deeded to Lord Baltimore II by King Charles II. In the 1750's, a war was fought between Maryland and Pennsylvania over this prized land. It is now considered part of Pennsylvania.

The Inn is listed in the National Registry of Historic Places as the Burgholtshouse, ca 1820 (but is now believed to be much older). The original owner was George Burgholtshouse, a wealthy sea merchant and builder. The farm, now 30 acres, was at that time 319 acres.

Medieval Dining Room
Medieval Dining Room
The Inn is a four story, all stone, Georgian (Federalist) style house with high ceilings, deep window jambs and six working fireplaces. Much of the original trim and hardware has been preserved. Wide plank yellow pine floors run throughout the house.

On the main level there are two dining rooms, one is formal with medieval decor and the other is more formal with federalist. Also on the main level is a parlor/library with a fireplace and the main kitchen.

On the lower level is a charming den with a fireplace, stone walls, old wood paneling and an adjacent powder room. A large stone walled bedroom with a full private bath and a second kitchen can also be found on this level. The den and bedroom have ten foot ceilings with exposed beams. From the den, a Dutch door will take you out to the front yard.

A wide and winding staircase climbs from the main level (the second level) upstairs to the third level. Here you will find three bedrooms, one with a private bathroom, and two bedrooms with fireplaces and a shared bathroom. From all three bedrooms you can walk out to a porch that runs along the length of the house.

Continuing up the staircase to the fourth level there is a two bedroom, one bathroom suite. High ceilings, exposed beams with the carpenters roman numerals still in full view, and stone walls makes this perfect for a family or two couples.

The Inn has been tastefully decorated with antiques, and offers flat screen televisions, DVD players, high speed wireless internet, hairdryers, and guest robes.

Kahtadin sheep are raised on the farm with the help of our working border collies, and organic vegetables are grown according to the season.

The farm also includes a large, original stone spring house with crystal clear water, and a seven stall horse bank barn. The Cabin Creek runs through the farm and offers great trout fishing. The Cabin Creek Game Ranch is located next to The Cabin Creek Inn and offers seasonal elk and deer hunting.

One mile down the road is the Susquehanna River/ Lake Clark with several yacht clubs and two free public marinas.

The Moondancer Winery is just minutes away, and if fine dining is in your plans, The Accomac Inn and Josephine's Restaurant are nearby.

Other points of interest are Lancaster and Amish tours, antiquing in Adamstown and The Black Angus, skiing Round Top in the winter, visiting Lauxmont Farms or the nearby American Indian ruins and the Harley-Davidson motorcycle plant, to name a few.
