The Bucksville House, a registered Bucks County historical landmark, provides the visitor not only with country charm but also with over 200 years of history. Situated on historic Durham Road, the original section of this structure was built by Nicholas Buck (circa 1795) as one of several artisans' shops which formed the genesis of the hamlet of Bucksville. The original building was enlarged and established as a tavern and an important stage coach stop in the early 19th century. The Bucksville House was an active tavern until the 1930's and is said to have served as a speakeasy during the Prohibition era.

Your hosts, Barbara and Joe Szollosi, in restoring and expanding The Bucksville House have preserved the honest elegance of the 1795 design. They have elevated the once quiet, humble stage coach stop to new life as a striking showplace including a gazebo and lovely perennial gardens. Antique furniture, original oil paintings and handmade reproductions have been tastfully woven into every room.
