Introduction
Lodging on the Delaware
Bridgeton House on the Delaware invites you to share the beauty of our Bucks County. Our river has received the Federal Wild & Scenic designation that will protect it for years to come. We are located on River Road which was voted one of the "Top Ten Scenic Drives" in the nation, and the historic Delaware River is literally our backyard.
We feature distinctive rooms with canopy beds, fireplaces and country antiques. Many have French doors, leading out onto their own private river front balconies complete with rocking chairs. Our luxurious Penthouse is 900 square feet and has been called "the ultimate room with a view." Each guest room is unique with style & comfort reflecting the artistic talents of the innkeepers Bea & Charles Briggs, who created the inn in 1981.
Philadelphia Magazine has called us "their favorite Bucks County Inn," The Washington Post "Bridgeton House on the Delaware, my kind of country inn; plank floors and white walls, windows on the river & warm apple cake in the kitchen. here I could relax..."
Our area abounds with much to do; numerous first class restaurants are close by, some within walking distance. For the outdoor enthusiast, we are one block from the Delaware Canal State Park. Sixty miles long & perfect for hiking, jogging, bicycling & bird watching. Canoeing, tubing, fishing & swimming can be had in the Delaware River.
Covered bridges, flea markets, antique & collectable shops, factory outlet shopping, art galleries, museums & hot air ballooning are only a few diversions. Of course relaxation, rocking & reading always await you back at the Inn.
The Inn is conveniently located 1-1/2 hours from New York City and Philadelphia, 1 hour from Newark Airport, 25 minutes from New Hope, Pennsylvania and Flemington, New Jersey.
