Introduction
The Barker House Bed & Breakfast -

New Oxford, Pennsylvania
Welcome to the The Barker House

This brick encased log house, built in 1794 by Richard Knight, is the second oldest structure in New Oxford and was a home of the prominent Hersh Family for over 150 years.

It is steeped in the history of New Oxford and was occupied by Confederate General John Gordon of Georgia and his officers on the way to the "Battle of Gettysburg". Today, period pieces and family heirlooms create a comfortable elegance in this beautifully restored home.

Begin your day with coffee served in the gracious living room, followed by a full hot breakfast.

Spend your day as you please, browsing New Oxford's Antique and Specialty Shoppes, touring the Gettysburg Battlefield or the Lancaster County Amish Country, see the Hanover Shoe Farms, play at nearby golf and ski facilities, or just relax with a book from David's extensive library.
