Welcome to Ascot House, an historic Lancaster County bed and breakfast decorated in classic Georgian style and located in the pre-civil war town Marietta. This dog friendly bed and breakfast has six spacious and elegant air-conditioned guestrooms, luxurious spa-style bathrooms and breakfasts to satisfy any gourmet. Ascot House is the perfect destination for romantic weekends, girl's getaways, family gatherings, ski and golf adventures, biking, hiking and hot-air ballooning, outlet shopping, antiquing, and exploring Amish Country. When you arrive, a stately fan-light entrance welcomes you into the magnificent interior of this elegant example of Federal style architecture (circa 1800). The beautiful hand painted floor in the entrance hall leads you to the graceful central staircase. The kitchen, breakfast, family and laundry rooms were featured in Colonial House Magazine in October 1994. With 17 fireplaces and central air conditioning and heating, this exquisite historic property is a perfect destination at all times of the year.

An authentic English afternoon tea is served in the parlor or dining room at 4 p.m. daily. Tea includes choice of teas, finger sandwiches a selection of delectable savories and sweets and either trifle (with or without sherry!) or chocolate mousse. Guests may wish to partake of wine and cheese in the library at 6 p.m. each evening before they go out to dinner. There is a wide variety of restaurants in the region and an outstanding French restaurant a short stroll down Market Street. An award-winning cook, Wendy will delight you with her delicious breakfasts. Guests of Ascot House may choose from a continental breakfast {from 7 to 9 a.m}, or served breakfast {8 to 9 a.m.). Breakfast is served in the lovely formal dining room, which opens to the deck, overlooking the tranquil gardens. |
Every room in Ascot House is beautifully decorated in the classic English style using a mix of Queen Anne and Chippendale furnishings and antiques. All guestrooms have private luxury bathrooms, most with Jacuzzi bathtubs and separate showers. Amenities include Gilchrist and Soames English spa toiletries, fluffy oversize towels, plush robes with slippers and treats for the chocolate lover.
