Adamstown is 10 miles from Reading - the outlet capital of the world - which offers a vast assortment of top quality merchandise. Lancaster, 20 miles to the southwest of Adamstown, boasts a beautiful combination of history and progress.

Located in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country, here you will find the Old Order Amish, their horse and buggy travel and plain dress contrasting starkly with the modern world. All of the Inn's guest rooms are decorated with family heirlooms, handmade quilts, lace curtains, fresh flowers, and many distinctive touches that make your stay special. The accommodations range from antique to king size beds. All rooms have private baths and SEVEN rooms feature two person Jacuzzis and fireplaces. Our Garnet and Ruby Suites also feature European Steam Showers. Current rate is $79-$199 per night.

From the structure itself, boasting magnificent chestnut woodwork and leaded, beveled glass, to the period antique furnishings and handmade accessories, Tom and Wanda never neglect strict attention to detail. Relax on the spacious porch, which features a unique painted "checkerboard" floor.

The Amethyst Inn sits high on a hill with a terrific view of historic Main Street. It is a massive, heavily verandaed building that's an architectural Gibraltar, with a magnificient nine foot high intricately carve front door.
