Antiquing: The town of New Oxford is one of the area’s best for antiquing. Three large antique malls and several other quality primitive antique shops make this town a definite stop. Additionally, the Adamstown Antiques Row is just a little over 1 hour’s drive. Adamstown is known for its antique markets on Sundays. Several other great antiques malls are open 7 days a week.

Civil War Enthusiasts: The National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg is about 30 minutes from the Inn as well as the State Museum of Pennsylvania. Plan a day trip to the battlefields of Gettysburg and Antietam.

Local Culture: Visit the Totem Pole Playhouse or Allenberry Playhouse. The Luhrs Center at Shippensburg University plays host to great concerts and quality entertainment. The Carlisle Theater has quite an array of music and theater. Several local festivals, such as the Corn Festival in Shippensburg, and the Fountain Festival in Newville bring craft vendors to the area throughout the summer. The Carlisle Corvette Show is certainly a widely known local attraction.
