Introduction
Built in 1928 by French craftsman and renowned inventor August Guignard, the homestead at 1373 Barker Road featured acres of farms and orchards as well as manufacturing operations for the fruit grading equipment he pioneered. Today, that home is Seven Oaks Bed & Breakfast and it continues to be one of the finest historical homes in the nation.
Seven Oaks Bed & Breakfast and its two acres of lush gardens is bordered by mature Douglas Firs that provide complete privacy and the feel of country living. Views of Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams provide a dramatic backdrop for serene and peaceful seating nooks and gardens within the meticulously kept grounds.
Located outside of the bustle of downtown Hood River in an area called "The Heights," Seven Oaks is conveniently close to, but peacefully detached from, the "city life" of Hood River. Here you can have the best of both worlds. Just two miles away is a small shopping center featuring Rosauer's Market, Hood River's finest market specializing in local, gourmet, and organic food and produce.
Nearby is the majestic Columbia River Gorge, renowned for world-class windsurfing, mountain biking, horseback riding, wineries, and more. Ample storage for your recreational equipment available on premises.
Seven Oaks Bed & Breakfast features five elegant bedrooms with private baths, plus a separate studio cottage with full bath and kitchenette. Beautiful and spacious dining and living areas serve as communal gathering spots while quiet reading rooms and nooks provide privacy and quiet. The front porch offers view of Mt. Hood and a shaded place to hang out on the porch swing. The rear deck is a sunny garden retreat with expansive views of the different garden areas. Whether traveling for business or for pleasure, available wireless internet will keep you connected. iPod docking stations in each room allow you to customize your ambiance.
