Oregon is one of best outdoor vacation locations in the United States and known for its beautiful sights. The Grotto is known as one of these great places. The National Sanctuary of Our Sorrowful Mother is a peaceful garden featuring a replica of Michaelangelo's Pieta. While visiting gardens you won't want to miss Portland's Japanese Gardens. When visiting the Gardens, you can park in the lot and walk up the path towards the Gardens, pausing now and then to look through the trees. Other great outdoor locations are in Southern Oregon where the Rogue River supports great fishing. In the summer months, this peaceful park comes alive with brightly colored rhodedendrons. For those who love the indoors there are several museums and homes to visit. The Pittock Mansion and Shelton-McMurphey-Johnson House are a beautifully furnished turn-of-the-century home in Portland. For yet another kind of museum the Oregon Air and Space museum is always a great stop with an interesting collection of experimental aircraft. A Portland Oregon inn or an Oregon coastline bed and breakfast is the perfect way to surround oneself with the state's green forrests and lush foliage.
