Nome On the third floor, Nome features a double bed, closet, dresser, dog crate and private bath with shower. Nome has wonderful sunrises overlooking Crystal Spring and the Upper Klamath Wildlife Refuge. Nome is the end of the trail for the Iditarod sled dog race, and all finishers passing under the burled arch on Front Street have earned their finisher's belt buckle and patch for a job well done. Year-round: $95
Kaltag On the second floor, Kaltag features 2 configurations, either with 2 twin beds or a single king bed, closet and dresser, dog crate and private bath with shower. It faces the front of the lodge, with a view of the spring and the Upper Klamath Wildlife Refuge. Great for birders, as the birds are active throughout the day. As a checkpoint, Kaltag is a major milestone, where the race leaves the Yukon River and turns toward the Bering Sea. Year-round: $95 (2 twins)
or $115 (king bed)
Ruby Ruby is on the second floor and features a queen bed, closet and dresser, dog crate and private bath with shower. Ruby has a meadow, forest and mountain view, overlooking the front meadow and forest as well as Cherry Peak rising across the road. At the Ruby checkpoint the race leaves the landlocked Interior and embarks upon the Yukon River. Year-round: $105
Iditarod On the second floor, Iditarod is a single person room with a twin bed, armoire, and private bath across hall. It is our only room facing north, with a view of the knoll behind the lodge, towering Ponderosa pines and Goosenest mountain in the distance. Iditarod does not have a dog crate in it, but one can be placed in the hallway immediately outside the door, or feel free to bring your own dog bed. A ghost town for many years, Iditarod is one of the smallest checkpoints along the race trail. Year-round: $70
McGrath McGrath is our largest room, featuring a queen and two twin beds, private bath with shower, dog crate and private entrance via the back stairs with direct access to the upper and lower screened viewing decks. The upper viewing deck provides expansive views overlooking Crystal Spring and Creek, the forest to the south, and the Upper Klamath National Wildlife Refuge to the east. About a third of the way into the race, McGrath is one of the largest checkpoints in the race, and is an air cargo hub ferrying supplies, dropped dogs and volunteers throughout the length of the race. Year-round: $130
Rainy Pass On the third floor, Rainy Pass features 2 configurations, either with 2 twin beds or a single king bed, closet, dresser, dog crate and private bath with shower. Rainy Pass has a meadow, forest and mountain view, overlooking the front meadow and forest as well as Cherry Peak rising across the road. Rainy Pass is the highest checkpoint in the race, as teams crest the Alaska Range and head down the backside into the Interior. Year-round: $95 (2 twins)
or $115 (king bed)
Skwenta On the second floor, Skwentna features a queen and twin bed combination, closet and dresser, dog crate and private bath with shower. It has a mountain, forest and meadow view, overlooking the front meadow and forest as well as Cherry Peak rising across the road. The Skwentna checkpoint is early in the race, and features a vaudeville type skit put on by the volunteers known as the "Skwentna Follies". Year-round: $120
