Every March and October the Dyson Family Bluegrass Festivals takes place, which captures the local culture by bringing in Bluegrass groups and holding community potlucks. Grand National Horses Association Play Days are held in the last full week of July every year. All ages come out to show their horsemanship, including a series of rodeos. The Beckham County Courthouse is a must-see for those who are fans of "The Grapes of Wrath." One of the filming locations of John Steinbeck's classic was set there. The J.S. Danner house is a nationally registered historic location, as a part of the Route 66 preservation project. Stay in a nearby Sayre bed and breakfast. This way, you'll never be very far from all the festivities and historical attractions in the area. For a great atmosphere right off of Route 66 in Sayre, try the Stardust Restaurant. Likewise, everyone loves barbecue and Jimbo's Route 66 Barbecue. It’s some of the best!
