Susanna's Guest House

Susanna's Guest House (circa 1860) is a full service bed and breakfast located on the Ohio River, twenty minutes from downtown Cincinnati. The Victorian Italianate architecture reflects the experience of early traders and settlers of the Steamboat Era.

This historic guest house features 5 well-appointed bedrooms with private bathrooms and fireplaces. All rooms are period decorated with high ceilings that capture the experiences and warm hospitality of a bygone era.

Susanna's Guest House is located on the Ohio River in the village of New Richmond, Ohio, part of which was once the settlement of Susanna. The original hamlet of Susanna was founded by Thomas Ashburn, who left Bolton, England in 1812 for the Ohio River Valley in the Northwest Territory. This was the era when steam powered boats were the primary means of transportation for early travelers of the Ohio River Valley. Here on the banks of the mighty Ohio, next to a town called New Richmond, Mr. Ashburn and his wife Susanna settled down. They planned out a town with wide boulevards radiating from a central park. Mr. Ashburn declared that the riverfront should be left as a wide promenade for the enjoyment of the people; he named the town Susanna.

The historic home will feature 5 well-appointed bedrooms; currently, three of the rooms are now completed, with two of the bathrooms having Jacuzzi tubs. Each room is historically named to reflect Susanna, Ohio's history and the experience of the early traders and settlers of the Steamboat Era.

At Susanna's Guest House, you will experience warm hospitality, with those special touches added that are so hard to find. The Innkeepers work hard to make sure that your stay is one you will always remember - whether it's a delicious breakfast or a waxed car, you are sure to receive special treatment.
