Rum Cake w/Glaze
This will be the best cake you ever ate!
Cake Ingredients:
1 to 2 c. chopped pecans (for top of cake)
1 18 oz yellow cake mix
1 3 3/4 vanilla instant pudding
4 eggs
1/2 c. cold water
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup of your favorite rum
Bake in a tube pan or brundt pan at 325 for 1 hour or until done. Before pouring the batter into the pan, melt 1/2 stick of butter and pour into the pan, then spread your pecans over the butter then pour the batter over top of the nuts.
Cake Glaze:
1/4 lb butter - melted
stir in 1/4 cup water
1 cup sugar and boil 5 minutes
1/ 2 cup rum
2 ways to add rum:
If you do not want alcohol content, pour 1/2 cup rum into the mixture above;
Or once the glaze has boiled for 5 minutes remove from the burner then add the 1/2 cup of rum.
