Introduction
Farrell House Lodge is a replica of a Southern mansion tucked away on 130 acres of private woodlands near Sandusky Ohio. In conjunction with Sunnybrook Trout Club, the lodge offers a scenic retreat with gracious living, residential dining, and year-round trout fishing.
The Lodge and club are tucked away on 130 acres of scenic woodlands that are kept as a nature conservancy. Its pastoral meadows and the surrounding landscape play host to an abundance of wildlife. Winding through the property is a two mile stretch of Ohio's legendary Cold Creek, a crystal clear stream which gives shelter to three species of trout.
For those looking to host a special event, Farrell House Lodge and grounds can accommodate large and small venues such as banquets, weddings, and family reunions. Business group meeting facilities also are available. In addition, the lodge and trout club are available for privately sponsored corporate outings and events.
Farrell House Lodge offers ten comfortable guest rooms, including three fireplace suites. Five of the rooms have private baths. Prices range from $89 to $159. Dinners at the lodge include fresh trout caught from Sunnybrook's stream and Lake Erie perch during Fish-Fry Fridays as well as weekly chef specials.
Guests at the lodge can participate also in a Farrell House Murder Mystery Dinner based on a script that takes place at the Sunnybrook Vineyards Estates. The dinner is held as an evening event coordinated with wine tasting interludes between each act.
In fall an outdoor pig roast banquet is held featuring blue-grass music, hayrides, games, and prizes. The lodge along with Sunnybrook Trout Club also features a workshop of custom bamboo rod building by master rod builder Jeff Wagner.
Nearby, in the greater Sandusky area, are many attractions such as the Cedar Point Amusement Park, the Sandusky Carousel Museum, Lake Erie Islands, charter boat fishing, golf courses, nature trails, and the Hayes Presidential Museum.
