Sharing the Best From Our Kitchen I'm sure you will enjoy the recipes that our family has collected over the years. Some new & some old. Some of the recipes are from my husband's family restaurant menu, many from my family's collection and thanks to our many friends for sharing their recipes along the way! We had four children and now have 9 grandchildren along life's path. My husband is retired with about 30 years service from a combination of the Army Intelligence, the Federal Bureau of Prisons & Private Corrections where he retired as a warden. We have moved all over the country and of course have done lots of entertaining along the way... A dream of mine was to own and run a Bed & Breakfast, so when he was ready to retire... he said, "Go find you a place" - and I did, sight unseen by him, he said OK! We bought the Taylor Mansion, December 17, 1999. I fell through the side porch, there was no heat in the front of the house and there was lots... of work to do! The Colonel Taylor Inn B&B officially opened spring 2001 and we have continued to work on it as business grows. We added a gift shop in 2003 and then added our cookbook. The 9,000 sq ft Taylor Mansion was built in 1878 by Colonel Joseph Taylor. He was a lawyer by trade, a 4 1/2 term Congressman and close friends with Presidents Hayes, Garfield & McKinley. We have proof that President McKinley stayed here and are sure the others did too!
