Stuffed French Toast
8 slices sturdy Italian bread
2 packages cream cheese(8 oz. each)
12 eggs
1/3 cup maple syrup
2 cups milk
Pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon (optional)
Cut bread into cubes and place half of the cubes in a greased, 9-by-13-inch
baking pan. Cut cream cheese into cubes and scatter over bread. Top with
remaining bread.
In a bowl, whisk together eggs syrup, milk and nutmeg or cinnamon, if desired.
Pour over bread and cheese. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake in a preheated,
375-degree oven for 45 minutes. Serves 10 to 12.
