Built in 1785, The Van Schaack House has retained the beauty and elegance of its time - much like the quaint countryside town of Kinderhook, New York. The Van Schaack House is within easy driving distance of Tanglewood, Rhinebeck and Saratoga. Come and visit the Hudson Valley and Columbia County and step back in time at the Van Schaack House.

Culinary Institute graduate Herminio Ramirez provides the fare certain to whet the appetite of visitors. A full breakfast is served each morning during your stay. Afternoon tea and samplings of Herminio's cuisine are favorites of guests.

The Van Schaack House - Kinderhook, New York

Antique furnishings and beautifully landscaped grounds, as well as an onsite gym, library, and computer room greet guests. Several other rooms are weaved through the intricate layout of the mansion, each offering guests a private, comfortable setting. The Van Schaack House offers four elegant accommodations featuring cable TV/VCRs, irons, ironing boards, hair dryers, and robes and bath products.

The John Jay Room is a spacious room with a private bath and direct access to the upstairs porch. $186/$160
The Martin Van Buren Room offers a beautiful view and has a private bath and direct access to the upstairs porch. $186/$160
The Sarah Roosevelt Room features pastel decor and four-poster bed with front facing view of the grounds and garden. $165/$140
The Judge Benson Room features a queen-size bed and an adjacent hallway bathroom. $125/$120
Rates reflect In-Season (June - Oct.) and Off-Peak (Nov. - May).

Policies:

  • VISA, MasterCard, American Express, Personal checks with valid ID and cash are acceptable forms of payment.
  • A 50% credit card deposit is due when making your reservation.-
  • In-season reservations require a minimum 2-night stay on the weekends and a minimum 3-night stay on holiday weekends.
  • Cancellations made 14 days in advance will receive a full refund.
  • Cancellations made inside the 14-day window will receive a credit for future use.
  • Check-in: 3 p.m.
  • Check-out: 12 noon.
  • No children under 12.
  • No pets.
  • No smoking.
