Welcome to Saugerties, New York
Saugerties, New York is a quaint community located between the majestic Catskill Mountains and the scenic Hudson River. Just ninety miles north of New York City and forty miles south of Albany, we are known to many as the "Festival Town" with a hometown feeling you immediately sense.
This year we will again play host to some very popular festivals, including the Hudson Valley Garlic Festival in September, and the Mum Festival in October. Each of these festivals are very unique in what they offer. The tantalizing aroma of garlic permeates the air each September as thousands flock to the Cantine Memorial Field Complex. Entertainment, food vendors, chef cooking demonstrations, educational exhibits, craft booths, and garlic farmers line the field for all to enjoy and it all adds up to a very unique festival. In October, Seamon Park is in full bloom with thousands of chrysanthemums for all to see.
Take the time to stroll through our 19th century Village where our restored carousel and our historic museum are located. Or visit our fully operational lighthouse, marinas, waterfront parks, our sports complex, or take the time to visit our many fine restaurants, theater, and dozens of antique shoppes all for you to enjoy.
