Introduction
The Pearl of Seneca Lake Bed and Breakfast is located on Seneca Lake, in the town of Starkey near the village of Dundee, NY. It is comprised of 13.7 acres, with 385 foot lake frontage. The property is secluded with several magnificent views of the lake and includes a 3000-foot nature trail.
The Pearl of Seneca Lake has been a dream of Peter and Mary Muller since 1982, when they purchased the property. They dreamed of providing an inn where lodging would be available and people could enjoy the quiet surroundings, experience a romantic getaway, have a quiet retreat, or enjoy the beautiful lake. The Pearl of Seneca Lake was completed in mid-May 2005, and is the realization of that dream.
Our four guest rooms each feature a queen size bed and private bath and
shower, except that the Southview Room features a king size bed and two twin beds, and accommodates up to 4 people. The first-floor guest room and all the hallways and common areas are totally handicap accessible and ADA compliant. Each mini-refrigerator will be stocked with soda, juices, water, and ice. The furniture for each of the bedrooms has been made by local Mennonite craftsmen, with newly-purchased bedding. The common area features a country kitchen, dining room, and spacious living room with fireplace. The living room/dining room area can be made private with closed doors for meetings, etc.
A typical breakfast served in the dining room includes coffee, juice, fruit, a sweet or savory entrée, meat or meat substitute, and homemade muffins, scones, or sweet rolls. A homemade mid-day snack will be provided, including such items as pies, cakes, brownies, cheese & crackers, and always cookies.

An 8-foot wide hiking trail, built in 1998 by an environmental architect, winds through 3000 feet of woods and meadows and was designed to provide a welcome habitat for birds, deer, wild turkey, and other wildlife native to the area. Numerous benches are provided along the trail to promote a quiet environment for meditation, bird-watching or just enjoying nature.
The grounds feature direct access to Seneca Lake, with good swimming, access to a canoe and rowboat, and plenty of chairs for lounging, reading, sunning, etc. A screen house with a large picnic table and lounging chairs is available for use by the guests. Near the screen house is a fire pit with plenty of firewood for roasting marshmallows or spending an evening by the fire.
