How To Find Us

Inn The Woods is located approximately 5 miles North of Poughkeepsie. From Poughkeepsie proceed North on Route 9 past the Franklin D. Roosevelt Home & Library through Hyde Park until you come to the intersection of Route 9 and Dutchess County Rt. 41. (Car dealership, Hyde Park Motors, and Post Office are on your right). At this traffic light, take the right onto Dutchess County Rt. 41 East (East Market Street). You will go 3/10 of a mile, and take the first left onto Howard Boulevard. You proceed straight ahead (200 yards) into a dead end street, Howard Boulevard Extension. (Watch for traffic coming from Hudson St.) Continue 2/10 of a mile, and after a bend in the road, the Inn's driveway is the first on your right. Parking area and Inn's entrance are up the drive and in the rear adjacent to the circular drive.
From New York City:
Take the Whitestone Bridge headed North. Proceed North on the Hutchinson River Parkway for about 4 miles until you come to Cross County Parkway. Take Cross County Parkway West for about 1 1/2 miles until you come to the exit for Sprain Parkway North. Take Sprain Parkway North, which eventually becomes Taconic Parkway North. Follow Taconic Parkway North until you reach Interstate Rte. 84 (about 45 minutes). Take Interstate Rte. 84 West until you reach the Poughkeepsie Exit (Exit 13- Route 9). Take Route 9 North for about 15 miles to Poughkeepsie. Stay on Rte. 9. You will now pass by Marist College, the Culinary Institute of America, and the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Home all on your left. Continue along Rte. 9. Go through the Hyde Park and follow the directions above. Approximate time: One hour and fifty minutes.
From the N.Y. State Thruway:
Take the New Paltz exit (#18) and go East toward Hyde Park (Rte 299). After about five miles you will come to a T. This is Rte. 9W. Take 9W South for about 2 miles until you see signs for the Mid Hudson Bridge to Poughkeepsie (also called the Franklin D. Roosevelt Bridge). Go over the bridge. Take the first exit to the right at the end of the bridge (Rte. 9 South). As you come off the ramp there is an immediate left. It is a U-turn that will put you on Rte. 9 going North. You will now pass by Marist College, the Culinary Institute of America, and the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Home all on your left. Continue along Rte. 9 and follow the directions above.
