Hudson Valley Information
The Hudson Valley is truly a beautiful place to visit. Perhaps you should visit one of several local day spas or arrange for a massage? Or take a walk over the grounds at nearby Clermont State Park, Montgomery Place or Olana - all overlooking the Hudson River. Twenty minutes drive would find you at Lake Taghkanic with a long sandy beach where you can find a picnic site and grill under shade trees. We'll set you up with snacks and a blanket. While there, rent a boat or a canoe if that tickles your fancy. By then it will be time for a peaceful dinner outdoors.
If it's activity you want, you can find plenty of opportunities to expend energy! We'll be sure to have plenty of literature available from local tourism sites and an events calendar or two. The Rhinebeck Fairgrounds has excellent activities to offer if you like juried crafts shows, cars shows, and antique shows. Rhinebeck is also well renowned for its excellent array of stores. Check out the new Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts which is close to Tanglewood, the summer home of the Boston Pops. The Hudson Valley has an incredible amount of antique shopping destination points including Hudson, Rhinebeck, Red Hook, and Saugerties. Kingston has historical sites for children including the Senate House and the Old Dutch Church or the new Tugboat Museum.
