Introduction
Be Relaxed and Refreshed!
The Blue Mt. Lake area is widely known for its exquisite natural beauty and undisturbed charm. The house is surrounded by several thousand acres of dedicated wilderness with views of Blue Mountain and neighboring ranges.
The Adirondack Park, located in northern New York State, is a 6 million acre wilderness oasis characterized by a mostly undisturbed landscape of lakes and mountains. Quaint country towns are centers for shopping, entertainment and the arts. Uncontrolled development is simply not allowed.
Attractions
Five minutes to the Adirondack Museum and Adirondack Lakes Center for the Arts (both in Blue Mt. Lake), Great Camp Sagamore and the W.W. Durant in Raquette Lake within 15 miles, Gore Mountain and Garnet Hill for skiing are nearby as well as the Cedar River and Wakely Golf Courses. Craft shops, antique shops and country stores.
Activities
Well known for an abundance of hiking trails including the Northville-Lake Placid Trail, popular mountain ascents include Blue Mountain and Castle Rock. The innkeeper, an avid hiker and snowshoer, is familiar with many Central Adirondack hiking trails and can make recommendations. Close to Blue Mt. Lake, Lake Durant, Indian Lake and Long Lake for water sports. The inn is situated on a designated scenic biking trail. Adirondack summers are delightful -- warm days followed by cool nights -- great relief from city heat and humidity! Fall foliage viewing is spectacular.

Comments from Our Guests...
"Thank you for your gracious care and the many comforts and pleasures of your home. This has added so much to our discovery of the Adirondacks!"
"The setting you've created, in the midst of the beautiful natural setting, is exquisite... a delicious respite from our road weary day!"
The Forest House Lodge was built circa 1920 and boasts many original architectural features including finely crafted hardwood floors and antique fixtures.
Guest rooms are privately located upstairs. Rooms are furnished with an attention to detail and feature queen or double beds and private baths. They overlook our "backyard" -- the vast and towering forest.
A large living area is available exclusively for guests. You may wish to read by the fire, watch cable TV, socialize or listen to music. Guests may browse our extensive Adirondack library and eclectic music collections.
Breakfasts are abundant meals and always include a fresh fruit salad.
On request, we can suggest the perfect hike, the most secluded beach, good food at good prices... even a waterfall for a wedding!
