Introduction
One of the country's remaining "train hotels", The Cambridge Hotel is characterized by its beautiful piazza which wraps around the structure like a fine lace. This Second Empire style hotel was built by a local citizen, Harry Clark, and opened in 1885 offering 17 guest rooms, American Bistro and a grand place for various activities.
Cambridge is a picturesque village located less than an hour from Albany, Saratoga Springs and Lake George in New York, and Bennington, Arlington and Manchester in Vermont. Visit the many art galleries or see a performance in an 1878 Victorian Opera House. Hike and bike our back roads or fish and canoe on the famous Battenkill. Learn how to make syrup. Find treasures at one of the area's antique and gift shops.
The Cambridge Hotel offers Bed and Breakfast style rooms that have been uniquely decorated by a number of area designers, antique dealers and artists. Each of our seventeen comfortable rooms include a private bath, air conditioning, ceiling fan, television and telephone. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel. No two rooms are the same, each being uniquely decorated in the Victorian or country style. You will capture the romantic charm and feeling from a time when our hotel was in its splendor.
You are invited to swap books or borrow one from our hotel Guest bookshelves, relax away from the stresses and strains of everyday life and enjoy a chat with other guests, visit the old opera house and other grand Victorian buildings in town, or play a game of checkers on the porch before dinner.
The Cambridge Hotel now offers wellness treatments in massage, Reiki, Reflexology, Healing Touch and Jin Shin Jyutsu. We have five practitioners available by appointment. Enhance your stay by taking advantage of our Wellness Center. Reserve your time today. You know you deserve it.
