Introduction
A 10-Room Circa 1908 Bed & Breakfast Inn
The Bartlett House was built at the turn of the century by John Bartlett, New York State Assemblyman.
The large Colonial Revival house built with corinthian columns, stained glass windows, a Dutch Colonial door, two fireplaces and large front porch remained as a family residence for over 60 years and then became the convent for the nearby Catholic Church.
In 1982, The Bartlett House was restored as a Bed and Breakfast Inn while retaining its charm and historic character.
Settled in 1682, Greenport was a prominent whaling port and main link between New York and Boston. Today, much of the history and charm has remained in the Colonial Revival architecture and the peaceful characteristics of a New England fishing village. Historic sites, museums, art, antique and nautical shops provide year round activities.
"We like the proximity of town and its so easy to get out to Shelter Island, Orient Beach and the wineries from this spot." J.L. July '00
The inn is within walking distance of Greenport Village, the Harbor, LIRR, Shelter Island Ferry, art galleries, shops and restaurants. The Bartlett House Inn is easily accessible to all public facilities such as wineries, golf, tennis, sailing, hiking, fishing, bicycling and clean uncrowded beaches.
Enjoy the comfort and charm of The Bartlett House Inn and the relaxed pace of the North Fork. For more information and reservations, call Jack and Diane. Open year round including most holidays.
