Trout Point Cooking School: Wine Seminars Come to Trout Point Lodge in southwestern Nova Scotia to explore the world of wine. These three-day, two-night programs will introduce participants to the fundamental knowledge of wine appreciation. Learn how to not only enjoy, but also describe, appreciate, & celebrate fine wine with leading wine experts amidst the relaxing milieu of Trout Point Lodge, the most renowned culinary destination in Atlantic Canada with a 120+ selection wine list. 3-day, 2-night programs from $699 to $799 per person, including wine tastings.
Wine Seminar Level One: May 25-27, 2007 The Seminar will teach participants: Major grape varieties; Important wine regions around the world; Wine tasting, including how to analyze and describe a wine; Correct wine service when entertaining; How wine is made; General knowledge of the principals behind pairing wine and food
Bordeaux Wine Seminar: May 18-20, 2007 Day One: The History & Culture of Bordeaux Wine; 1st Wine Tasting. Day Two: The Classifications & Appelations; 2nd Wine Tasting. Day Three: What Makes Bordeaux Special; 3rd Wine Tasting.
Spanish Wine Seminar: June 8-10, 2007 The weekend program will expose participants to the major Spanish wine regions including Rioja, Jerez & Montilla, Penedes, Priorato, Catalunya, and Rueda. The class will also learn basic Spanish wine terminology and compare French and Spanish wines.

Nova Scotia Seafood Cooking School Trout Point's Food Learning Vacations offer participants complete culinary get-aways, including double occupancy in luxury Trout Point guest suites, all gourmet meals, culinary instruction in the Lodge's teaching kitchen, and field trips to unique food destinations. All Learning Vacations focus on the use and preparation of fresh seafood. Daily cooking lessons are also offered to regular guests, happening almost every afternoon. The Seafood Cookery School teaches beginners and advanced cooks alike how to identify, choose, and prepare fresh fish and shellfish using the French Creole sensibilities of our Louisiana-trained instructors.
Groups of 6 or more may call to schedule additional times or custom-tailored programs. COST PER PERSON (double occupancy) INCLUDING ROOM, MEALS, & ALL TROUT POINT AMENITIES is U.S. $675.00 (plus 15% sales tax and 7.5% service) for the 3-day, 2 night programs. Participants stay in Deluxe Junior Suites. Room upgrades are available for an additional charge. If one guest wishes to attend a Food Learning Vacation, while the second occupant of the room does not, then the standard room-rate is halved for the second person.
