El Prado is located in northern New Mexico, about 40 miles from Santa Fe and is home to several hospitable El Prado bed and breakfast establishments. The city offers several dog parks for pet owners and is located in Taos County. El Prado has a relatively low crime rate and many historic landmarks are just a short drive away. Be warned that El Prado has very warm weather - so bring your shorts and sandals. The Baha'i Faith is a religion unique to New Mexico and provides cultural interest. In June, the Taos Solar Music Festival is held at night. This would be a good time to stay at an El Prado inn or B&B to enjoy the festivities. The New Mexico Museum of Science and History is located near El Prado and provides an educational and fun environment. The Puye Ruins are a historic landmark only an hour from the city.
