Introduction
Dobson House sits at 7,000 feet on a 100 foot hill in a rift valley overlooking the Rio Grande Gorge, near natural hot springs. All around, there are mountains and desert.
We offer luxurious accommodations and superb food. You can sit and look at the mountains in all directions. Or you can hike, bike, fish, raft, ski, climb, visit the Taos Pueblo, take a llama trek, ride the Cumbres and Toltec Railroad, explore Bandelier National Monument or walk around Taos Plaza which is 13 miles south of us.
The house is a 6,000 square foot solar adobe with natural adobe walls and stone floors. It is furnished in a comfortable southwestern style, and features the owners' contemporary art collection. Breakfast is served overlooking the gorge in the 1600 square foot common room, which is circular and surrounded by glass. Guests are welcome anytime in the common room - it's great for bird watching or just looking at the mountains. There's even a baby grand you are welcome to play.
Special Events at the Dobson House include small weddings, receptions and day seminars.
