The Perfect Combination of Taos country comfort and casual elegance. This two story adobe blends the romance, charm and natural beauty of Northern New Mexico. Serenely set at the foot of the Sangre de Christo Mountains for which Taos is so famous, this country inn is situated amidst an impressive grove of cottonwoods, pinon pines, juniper and aspen. Renovated in 1996 this old two-story adobe of classic pueblo architecture was once the residence of flamboyant local artist, Wolfgang Pogzeba. He designed the rooms, balconies and gardens to provide impressive views of Taos Mountain and the spectacular New Mexico sunset.

The Cottonwood Inn's ideal location, halfway between the town and the world famous Taos Ski Valley, offers skiers easy access to the slopes. Summertime activities such as white water rafting, biking, horseback riding, hiking and fishing are equally close. Innkeepers, Bill and Kit Owen are happy to assist you with arranging your days' activities. Bill is an experienced fly fisherman and water-colorist while Kit is a skier, swimmer, biker, and hiker.

The Cottonwood Inn provides 8 guest rooms with private baths. Each room is unique in style and decor, featuring original art and furnished for luxury and comfort. Additionally you will find 300 thread count all cotton sheets, down pillows and comforters. Room amenities range from fireplaces (real woodburning, set daily - open for use September 15 thru April 30), private patios, decks, whirlpool tubs, steam baths and even a private hot tub. However, everyone can enjoy the hot tub under the stars! A satellite television, VCR, telephone and internet connection for your lap top are available in the common areas of the Inn for guest use. To ensure quiet for everyone, these features are not in the individual guest rooms. Passes to a local fitness center are also available. Suites are available and our inn lends itself to small groups traveling together.

Your day at the Cottonwood Inn starts with a savory breakfast. Each afternoon we serve mouth-watering appetizers which you may enjoy by a roaring winter fire or in our lovely summertime garden. The inn is a perfect setting for relaxing as the sun sets over the pastel blue Jemez Mountains. Then, after freshening up, you are ready to seek out any one of the numerous wonderful restaurants in the surrounding area.
