Martinez y Ewens Anasazi Ranch

We provide guided one day hikes, including lunch, into the back country of the Carson National Forest. Hike through beautiful shadowy forests beside clear mountain streams and up ancient Native American trails for spectacular views. We may encounter deer, elk and Big Horn sheep. The distance and altitude gain are based on each guest's abilities. You are sure to return to the Anasazi Ranch with memories to last a lifetime. We encourage Boy Scout troops to contact us for assistance in accessing the Carson National Forest for longer backpacking trips.

Trout Fly Fishing

Northern New Mexico offers miles of small streams supporting the native Rio Grande Cutthroat, brown, rainbow, and "cut-bow" trout. These streams come from the mountain ranges that support five ski areas within an hour of Taos. Most of the streams are small and range from canyon pocket waters to tailwaters, wandering through open alpine meadows. Whether you are a beginner wanting to catch trout on a fly rod, or an intermediate angler wanting fly fishing action, the Anasazi Ranch will furnish the instruction and guided fishing you are seeking in the high country of New Mexico. We furnish flies, tippet, and lunch.

The trout fly fishing and day hikes are operated under a permit from the Carson National Forest, USFS, Taos, New Mexico.
