Introduction
For a romantic stay in Santa Fe, we invite you to nestle into this delightful bed & breakfast in the town’s historic residential east side. Quiet and peaceful, yet just a short walk from the famous central Plaza and the multitude of galleries on Canyon Road, this 1903 Craftsman-style home has been lovingly decorated with hand-stenciling, dried flowers and family antiques to create a warm, relaxing and nurturing atmosphere.
The country cottage feel is enhanced by dormer windows and carefully restored architectural details. Sunlight streams through stained glass windows or lace curtains onto gleaming hardwood floors. Fresh flowers grace every room throughout the house. For your comfort and convenience, each of our spacious rooms is furnished with television and telephone, along with a thick, fluffy bathrobe to lounge in. To end your day, we lay individual chocolates on your pillow at bedtime.
In the morning, savor the aroma of gourmet fresh-brewed coffee as you snuggle under luxurious down comforters. Then treat yourself to a breakfast of scrumptious homemade muffins, incredibly moist homemade granola and whole grain breads, yogurt and seasonal fruit salad.
Winter breakfasts are served in the cozy kitchen warmed by a roaring wood stove. In the springtime our garden awakens with the soft fragrance and bright blooms of yellow daffodils, tulips and heavenly hyacinths. Guests may take their breakfast in the privacy of their own bedroom or on the verandah overlooking the grassy lawn, shaded by lilacs, wisteria and apricot trees and accompanied by the chirping of birds.
Summertime brings masses of roses, peonies, lavender and cosmos. Their scent surrounds the house and wafts up to the front porch, where you may wile away the hours on the old-fashioned swing, sipping lemonade or iced tea, munching from the ever-present plate of irresistible homemade cookies and brownies that you can smell baking throughout the day.
The crisp autumn air and gently falling snows of winter are more conducive to leisurely tea times in front of a crackling fire, curled up with a good book or engrossed in lively conversation with fellow guests.

What the press says about Alexander's Inn:
Best Places to Stay in the Southwest: "Facing an open field of wildflowers, this cozy 1903 house feels as though it’s in the country rather than just a few minutes from downtown. Throughout the house stenciled patterns, hardwood floors, and beautiful furnishings (many of them antiques) add to the flavor. Guest rooms are warm and inviting."
Santa Fe’s daily newspaper, The New Mexican:
"Her (Carolyn’s) kitchen smells sweet with the baking scents of such decadent pastries as white chocolate pecan cookies and
snickerdoodles. She encourages guests to "enjoy long luxurious breakfasts," either outside on the patio or by the huge flower garden when the season permits. But wintertime is cozy in her early 1900’s wood and brick home; guests willing to rouse themselves from beneath a down comforter can slip into terrycloth robes she’s provided and paddle down to the kitchen for a breakfast worth waking up to."
