York Street House Bed and Breakfast

Lambertville, New Jersey

Elegant 1909 Georgian Colonial Revival on three quarters of an acre located in the historic town of Lambertville.

Lambertville, New Jersey Bed & Breakfast: York Street House is a gracious thirteen-room Manor House located in the historic town of Lambertville. Built in 1909 by early industrialist George Massey, it was a twenty-fifth wedding anniversary gift for his beloved wife. Massey was one of the early industrialists who settled his family in this river village just after the turn of the century. In 1911, the home was featured as House & Garden magazine's Home of the Year. The heart of the inn features a winding three-story staircase that leads to six guest rooms, some with queen- or king-size canopy beds. All rooms have private baths.

Chamber 3
Chamber 3
This bedchamber was the master bedroom, and has several important historical features. To the left of the door, is a small tube with a handle, which was used to call the maid. In the wall is Mr. Massey's safe with its combination lock. The queen size cherry four poster bed displays a Greek hand-tied canopy with a hypo-allergenic featherbed. A small cherry nightstand holds a glass lamp and clock radio. The bath features the original configuration of the sewing room windows and window seat, with its trap doors for storage. The cherry door on the bath has the original full length mirror, and on its back are signed the names of all the workman who built the house. Recently redone, the bath features a bay window and window seat with our "stand-alone" toilet. There is a full shower/Jacuzzi tub and pedestal sink.
