Cape May, New Jersey Bed & Breakfast: Built in 1869, The Gingerbread House is one of the original Stockton Row Cottages. This carpenter gothic style house was designed by the famous architect, Stephen Decatur Button. Originally, The Gingerbread House was a summer retreat for wealthy families who, together with their servants and nannies, would travel from Philadelphia and Virginia to summer in Cape May. Since 1979, The Gingerbread House has been among the finest bed and breakfast inns.

Room #1 (Luxury Suite): Our largest room boasts a large private porch with wicker furniture, 2 brass and iron double beds and a private bath. $135 - $260
Room #2 (Deluxe Room): This beautiful and comfortable room boasts a Victorian bed with a high headboard and a private bath. $110 - $195
Room #3 (Deluxe Room): This warm and cozy L shaped room features a matching antique bedroom set and a private bath. $110 - $195
Room #4 (Standard Room): This warm and comfortable room boasts a cathedral ceiling, queen-size bed and shared bath plus powder room. $98- $152
Room #5 (Standard Room): This is a cozy room featuring a Victorian walnut bedroom and a shared bath plus powder room. $98- $152
Room #6 (Standard Room): This bright room of medium size features a Victorian bed and shared bath plus powder room. $98- $152

RATE INFORMATION:

  • Rates reflect double occupancy.
  • Additional person is $25/night.
  • Single occupancy rates are $10 less.
  • Click here for our children policy.
  • Rates are subject to change.
  • Add 6% New Jersey Sales Tax.
  • An advance deposit of 50% of the total charges is required to guarantee the reservation if more than a two-night reservation.
  • A one-night stay requires payment in full.
  • A reservation will be confirmed via a confirmation letter when deposit is received.
  • In the event of a cancellation, the deposit less a $30 handling fee will be refunded if we are able to refill the entire vacancy.
  • Deposits for weekends, holidays and one-night reservations are non-refundable.
  • Weekends - 3 night minimum stays are required from mid-June through mid-October (some exceptions do apply).
  • All remaining weekends require a 2-night stay.
  • Certain holiday weekends require a 3 or 4 night stay.

  • Bicycle storage (bring your own lock)
  • Guest refrigerator and telephone (free local telephone calls)
  • Enclosed outside shower with changing area and shower amenities.
    Available on day of departure until 3pm.
POLICIES:

  • Well-behaved children over 5 years old are welcome.
  • Sorry, no pets.
  • Smoking is permitted only on the outside verandas.
  • Check-in time is between noon and 10:00pm.
  • Check-out time is 10:00am.
