A delicious dish that you don't have to slave over, this great breakfast starter can also be served for dessert. Serves 4
4 tart apples (such as Granny Smith) Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Clean and core the apples. Cream the butter and beat in brown sugar, zest, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. Fill the apples with the mixture and top each with raisins. Place the apples in an ovenproof glass-baking dish. Carefully pour about 1/2 inch of orange juice into the dish. Bake apples 30-45 minutes until tender, but not ruptured, spoon juice over the apples. Add a dollop of sour cream if desired and serve warm.
