Introduction
This historic property was once the home of Joseph Q. Williams, Mayor of Cape May during much of the Civil War. In 1878, much of Cape May was devastated by a fire that began just down the street. The Williams House survived making it now one of the oldest in Cape May. Known today as the Bayberry Inn, it is a registered historic site.
Bayberry Inn is conveniently located two short blocks from the beach and one block from the shops of Washington Street Mall. Take a short stroll and explore many of Cape May's fine shops and restaurants, the promenade and our sparkling beach beyond.
