The Wayside Inn - Bethlehem, New Hampshire This historic inn started as a four-room homestead, built by the nephew of Franklin Pierce, 14th president of the United States. Today, The Wayside Inn welcomes guests seeking a true New England experience in any season. The inn is perfect for Romantic Getaways, Family and Friend Gatherings, a Country Wedding, or a Memorable Vacation. The original main inn is partnered with its modern annex, ideal for young families and pet-friendly, each room features a balcony and a lovely view. All accommodations are spacious and truly comfortable, and one room in the inn is wheelchair accessible.

Guests enjoy seasonal outdoor pleasures, with a riverside sandy beach and the carefully tended flower garden. The inn's horseshoe pit and bocce court are favorites! Nearby hiking trails change dramatically with the seasons, and winter offers snowshoeing and cross-country skiing right from our door. Golf enthusiasts, dedicated antique lovers, country-store shoppers, our guests know all their passions will be satisfied. We are so close to major ski areas, and skiers of all levels will find their thrills all through the winter and early spring seasons.

Innkeepers Victor and Kathe Hofmann offer special packages for golfers (including play at the Mt. Washington course),
girlfriend getaways, lovers of all ages, gourmet weekends during events featuring chefs from
the American Culinary Federation, wine tastings, and the wonderful Bethlehem Christmas Tree Celebration.

The Wayside Inn, set by the beautiful Ammonoosuc River, is a few minutes from the center of Bethlehem in New Hampshire's White Mountains. The historic inn is a favorite for family vacations, romantic getaways and group gatherings any time of the year.

Outside, guests enjoy a selection of on-site activities. In summertime the sandy beach by the river, the flower garden, the horseshoe pit and the bocce court are favorites. Hiking trails, golf courses, antique and gift stores and the White Mountains attractions are just a short drive away. In winter enjoy snowshoeing or cross-country skiing from the inn or downhill skiing at Bretton Woods and Cannon Mountain. Discounted lift tickets are available to our guests.
