Introduction
We invite you to be our guests in our comfortable, recently updated 1790s colonial style home. Originally home to a Revolutionary War colonel and his family of seven children, the house has been modified over the years.
Most notable was the addition of a wonderful wraparound porch where you can relax and unwind from your day's travel. The house sits on 24 acres which abound with wildlife.
Enjoy activities at Dartmouth in nearby Hanover, the Hood Museum and Hopkins Center. Visit the White Mountains or the Lakes Region of New Hampshire. Hike local trails in the summer or cross-country ski in winter. Enjoy downhill skiing with a choice of slopes located from a few minutes to an hour away. Browse the antique centers in Quechee and Woodstock, VT.
Witness nature's beauty in the flaming colors of fall. Attend country auctions, craft fairs, and church bazaars. Visit LaSalette Shrine and the Lower Shaker Village of Enfield, the Shaker Museum and the Great Stone Dwelling (now the Shaker Inn). Shop for furniture made in the Shaker tradition by Dana Robes Wood Craftsmen or at the outlet shops in Tilton or North Conway.
Go bicycling or hiking in our beautiful parks and countryside. Enjoy boating and fishing. Take a short drive to visit either Lake Sunapee, Lake Winnipesaukee or the Cog Railway at Mt. Washington.
