Chesterfield Inn - West Chesterfield, New Hampshire Come and relax awhile at this elegant yet comfortable, renovated Chesterfield, New Hampshire Inn farmhouse with its cathedral ceilings and rambling views of the Connecticut River Valley. Located in Southern New Hampshire on the Vermont border between Brattleboro, Vermont and Keene, New Hampshire, guests are invited to feel the stress of everyday life disappear.

Sit in front of the fire in the parlor or gaze out on the meadow with its cloud of wildflowers at this New Hampshire Bed and Breakfast. Privacy, delicious cuisine, and relaxation are yours at one of the most unique and accommodating inns in New England. This is the place for your next New Hampshire getaway!

The Chesterfield Inn is sited on a hill with a winding driveway leading around the pond from the entrance on Cross Road. Our yard consists of 10 acres of land mostly landscaped into gardens designed by renowned landscape architect Gordon Hayward. The meadow is a mass of wild flowers. In midsummer, the grasses and flowers are waist high and sway in the breeze. There is a mown path through the meadow to explore and enjoy the summertime smell of all of the different flowers and grasses. The bluestone terrace off of the dining rooms has gardens on all four sides and steps down to the flat lawn when many a wedding has taken place. In the spring the crab apple and azalea blossoms are breathtaking. In winter, the crab apple trees are hung with white lights that twinkle as the snow blows.

If you've always dreamed of being married in the garden at a New England country inn, this is the place for you! Intimate weddings of up to 65 guests can be held at the Inn. Our goal is to provide a beautiful place for your wedding or civil union, to provide exceptional service and great food, and to make sure that every detail is attended to. From the hearty country breakfast served every morning to the sumptuous dinner served at night, food is an important part of the warm hospitality that we offer here at the Inn. The parlor, dining rooms, and terrace have exceptional views of the back meadow and the rolling hills beyond. The terrace, surrounded by perennial gardens and crab apple trees, is a wonderful place to enjoy a glass of wine before dinner.

The Inn's setting takes full advantage of the beautiful natural surroundings of the Connecticut River Valley. Our guest rooms are nestled in the original inn and the adjacent Johanna Wetherby Building.

Policies
  • All rates are per room, double occupancy. There is a $20 charge for each additional person in a guest room.
  • Check in is after 2 PM and Check out is by 11 AM. We will honor a late check out if possible and at your request. If you will be arriving after 10 PM please let us know and we will make arrangements for late arrival.
  • We have a two night minimum stay on holiday weekends, and during foliage season. Rates are also $25 higher during these times.
  • In the event of cancellation no charge will be made if cancellation is more than 5 days prior to arrival.
  • If cancellation is less than 5 days prior to arrival, there will be no charge if we are able to rebook the room.
  • If we are unable to rebook the room, your credit card will be charged for the number of reserved days that we were unable to rebook.
  • We do not take deposits but we do ask for a credit card to guarantee the reservation.
  • Taxes, Gratuities, and Credit Cards
  • All rates are subject to 8% New Hampshire Room and Meals tax.
  • Gratuities for the housekeepers and breakfast servers are left to each guest's discretion. All major credit cards are accepted.
  • Full country breakfast cooked to order is included. Afternoon tea & cookies is also included.
  • Smoking is not permitted in the inn. A $200 cleaning fee will be charged if you choose to smoke in your room.
  • Children of all ages are welcome. We can supply a cot or crib if needed with a $20 charge. Rooms accommodate a maximum or two adults and two children.
  • We welcome well-behaved pets but ask you to reserve a room in the exterior buildings if you are traveling with your pet. Dogs must be crated if left alone in the room and you are responsible for any damages. See our website for more information.
  • Room service is available for both breakfast and dinner during meal service hours.
