"What a beautiful place! More than an inn... It restores the soul." Kennebunkport, ME
Nick and Betsy Young and their children are only the fourth owners of this wonderful home since John “Duke” Guider carried his young bride, Dorothy Adair, over the threshold. The home, rich in history, and the grounds, originally designed by the Olmstead Brothers, combine to provide
an atmosphere of quiet splendor for our guests
We welcome you to visit Adair Country Inn and Restaurant…deliberately small, naturally quiet.

Morning coffee & tea are out at 8:00, and breakfast is served at 8:30. Typically it consists of fruit juices, fresh fruit, yogurt, homemade granola or oatmeal, freshly baked popovers, and a hot entree such as fruit-filled French toast with Vermont cob-smoked bacon, ham and cheese frittata, or pumpkin pancakes with local maple syrup.
Afternoon tea is served at 4:00 with scratch-baked cakes or cookies. Flavorful food, made with only the freshest ingredients and artfully presented, is a point of pride here at Adair. Our intimate dining room with fireplace and wonderful views of gardens, both front and back, is filled with enticing aromas morning and night. The restaurant is open to the public and to inn guests by reservation. Dinner reservations begin at 5:30pm, Thursday through Monday.
A fine selection of wine and beer is available with dinner. Reservations are recommended when arranging for lodging.
A formal entry hall separates large and comfortable dining and living rooms. The spacious granite Tap Room is always available for a game of pool at the antique Oliver Briggs Boston pool table or for just relaxing. Overstuffed club chairs and subdued lighting provide a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere. A television with VCR is also in the Tap Room with a variety of movies. A private telephone is located just off the entry.
Elegant guest rooms are furnished with a variety of period antiques and reproductions. Each has a view of the White Mountains or the Olmsted Gardens. Each has a full private bath and either queen or king sized beds.
