Introduction
Luxury and comfort are yours when you surround yourself in the ambiance of Traditions Inn Bed & Breakfast, a member of the Nebraska Association of Bed & Breakfasts. Special moments are celebrated and traditions are cherished.
Gracing the corner of 14th Street and 29th Avenue, the Dickinson House was built in the 1890's by the Mayor of Columbus. Unique features include stained glass, original fireplace and oak mantel, raised panel pocket doors, and elegant open oak stairway. Nestled next door is the Dutch Colonial built in the 1930's by Dr. Maxwell, a prominent Columbus dentist. Gleaming hardwood floors, beveled French doors, white brick fireplace and airy sunroom greet you. Also on the main floor, a Gathering room, Dining and Kitchen area await guests.
Received the Nebraska Restaurant Association Lodger of the Year Award 2009.
The conservatory links the two homes while providing a sunlit greenhouse - a great place for morning coffee, a leisurely lunch or quiet evening drink. From the conservatory, step onto an enclosed deck with Gazebo, garden and fountain. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the larger garden area and stop to rest in the secluded gazebo with a glider swing.
Breakfast will be served in your room, garden area, or on the main floor of the restaurant. Breakfast is served to suit your schedule. Full breakfast may include strawberry cream cheese stuffed French Toast, Homemade Pastries or Caramel-Pecan Rolls, with a Hearty Egg Casserole. Intimate private dinners may also be arranged.
