Introduction
Luxury and comfort are yours when you surround yourself in the ambience of Traditions Inn, where every day is a celebration. Gracing the corner of 14th Street and 29th Avenue, the Dickinson House was built in the 1890's by the Mayor of Columbus. The Dickinson is the new home to Traditions Inn. Unique features include stained glass, original fireplace and oak mantel, raised panel pocket doors, and an elegant open oak stairway.
Nestled next door is the Dutch Colonial built in the 1930's by Dr. Maxwell, a prominent Columbus dentist. Gleaming hardwood floors, beveled French doors, white brick fireplace and airy sunroom greet you. Located on the main floor are the gathering room, kitchen area, workout center, and gift shoppe. The conservatory links the two homes while providing a sunlit greenhouse that is a great place for morning coffee, a leisurely lunch or quiet evening drink. Enjoy a warm summer night in one of the two gazebos, surrounded by an enclosed deck with garden and fountain.
Traditions Inn features personalized dining with a friendly atmosphere. The restaurant and pub are housed in the 1890's Victorian-style Dickinson House. A full breakfast will be served in your room, garden area, or on the main floor of the restaurant. Breakfast includes coffee, tea, juice, muffin or rolls, and an entree such as strawberry cream cheese stuffed French Toast, homemade pastries, or a hearty egg casserole.
Traditions Inn's three bed & breakfast guest rooms are located in the Maxwell House, a separate house from the innkeepers quarters and restaurant, offering maximum privacy and accessibility. Guest rooms are air-conditioned and feature private balconies, in-room phones, desks and data ports, cable TV/VCR, plush robes, hair dryers, and irons and ironing boards. Beverage service, refrigerator, and kitchenette are also available.
An informal sunlit greenhouse with handicapped accessability with views of 14th Street and the garden and gazebo areas. Works great for buffet luncheons and dinners. Capacity: 16 at separate tables OR 8-10 at one long table.
