Introduction
Knoll's Country Inn Bed & Breakfast -

North Platte, Nebraska The welcome mat is out...

If it’s peace, quiet and solitude you’re looking for, we’re away from the noise of cars, trucks and trains. Enjoy a morning or evening walk along the canal; you may be treated to a spectacular sunrise or sunset. Let us take you away from uncomfortable beds, noisy motels, and routine restaurant food -- instead we offer queen-size beds, country quiet and wholesome home cooking.

For the ultimate in relaxation and enjoyment we have a whirlpool tub inside. And if you are looking for a little fun and a special time under the stars, try our outside Hot Tub. We built our home in 1974 to raise a family of six children, so it is a home... very nice and very clean. Accommodations include five guest rooms, two with private baths. Family Friendly.

Please, no smoking or animals in our home.

Knoll's Country Inn also offers the service of boarding horses overnight for travelers. Electric and water hookups are available for your campers.

Horse Motel

Our location is central to an area that has many and varied attractions.
  • The area offers good hunting in season and a new sporting clay course to keep the shooter’s eye sharp during the off season.
  • Nebraska’s largest body of water, Lake McConaughy, is 50 miles to the west where you can enjoy the beautiful white sand beaches, swimming, boating, fishing and all water sports.
  • Lake Maloney is eight miles east and offers the same water sports as well as a challenging 18-hole, grass-green public golf course.
  • For the golfer, North Platte has three challenging courses -- Indian Meadows (9-hole); Iron Eagle (new 18-hole municipal course) and the 18-hole North Platte Country Club course.
  • North Platte is the site of Col. Wm. F. (Buffalo Bill) Cody’s Scouts Rest Ranch, where you can tour Cody’s North Platte home and barn which were built in the 1880’s.
  • Many artifacts from Cody’s Wild West Show are on display as well as photos, gun collection, uniforms and much more.
  • Also in North Platte is the Union Pacific Railroad’s Bailey Yards, the largest classification yard in the world. It is a "must see" for the railroad buff, as is the "Challenger" locomotive at Cody Park, also in North Platte.
  • Hundreds of thousands of servicemen and women who traveled through Nebraska during World War II fondly remember the hospitality of the North Platte Canteen where every troop train was met by volunteers who prepared and served sandwiches, coffee, cookies, cakes and other homemade ‘goodies’ during stops there.
  • The Canteen and its volunteers are honored at the Lincoln County Historical Museum which also has many other reminders from our proud past; an opportunity to look back in time.
  • North Platte has a new memorial: America's 20th Century Veterans Memorial.
  • Every year in mid-June North Platte hosts the week long Nebraskaland celebration.
  • For upcoming events in the North Platte area please call the Convention & Visiters Bureau at (800) 955-4528.
  • If you are a nature lover, springtime is for the "birds". The Platte river area is a stop-over point for migrating waterfowl -- flocks of geese, ducks and the Sandhill cranes are area visitors during the months of February, March and April. Lake McConaughy has a viewing station to watch bald eagles (middle of January through March).
  • We are members of Pheasants Forever and support maintaining wildlife habitat.
