The Troy-Bumpas Inn Bed and Breakfast offers the classic style and beauty of a historical inn/B&B. Originally the home of the Reverend Sidney Bumpas and his wife, Frances, the house was built in 1847 and occupied by the family until 1976. The Reverend Bumpas, inspired by a painting of the Parthenon in his father-in-law's parlor, chose a Greek Revival design and set the house on a stately knoll overlooking Greensboro Female College (now Greensboro College). Over the years, the surrounding neighborhood developed into the now-popular College Hill District. Today The Troy-Bumpas Inn Bed and Breakfast is listed on both the National Register of Historic Places and the Guilford Country Historic Register.
